Timeline and Growth Cycle of Reishi Mushrooms

1. Spore germination – begins at week 0.

2. Mycelium colonization – develops slowly over 4–6 weeks.

3. Primordia (antler tips) – appear around weeks 6–8 as white knobs.

4. Young fruiting bodies – grow into elongated, branching “antlers” by weeks 8–10.

5. Mature fruiting bodies – caps flatten and develop their signature shiny, red-brown varnished surface around weeks 10–12 (or longer).
